[!] Over the next year, the USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center will be updating the geodetic vertical elevation (gage datum) for many locations. Click HERE for additional information including a current list of streamgages with upcoming datum changes. This update in gage datum does not affect the location of the streamgage, nor the observed local gage height or discharge recorded at the streamgage.

  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2017 to current year.
GAGE - Water stage recorder and staff gage. Satellite telemetry at site.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS -

Record for the water year considered good.

ECOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2002 to September 2007. (Discontinued)
REMARKS - Samples were collected using bioassessment protocols for benthic macroinvertebrates using a multiplate sampler that was placed at a depth of 1-2 ft for 5 weeks. Counts are based on a randomly-selected 100-organism (approximate) subsample.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -

October 1958 to September 1993. September 1994 to current year.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: January 1973 to October 1975. WATER TEMPERATURE: January 1973 to September 1979, November 1996 to September 1998, June, 2020 to current year. SUSPENDED SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: January 1973 to September 1979. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: June, 2020 to current year.
COOPERATION - Real time water quality station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Sustainable Hydro, Braddock, LLC.  Discrete water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - Analyses for pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. Sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, Pa. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods. Discharges reported are a summation of daily values of discharge from the Monongahela River at Elizabeth (station 03075070) streamgage and the Youghiogheny River at Sutersville (station 03083500) streamgage.
