LOCATION - Lat 18°03'31", long 66°33'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Juana Diaz Municipio, PR, Hydrologic Unit 21010004, on the center of the earthfill dam, 1.45 mi (2.3 km) south from San Mateo Church at Real Abajo, 3.65 mi (5.9 km) west from Juana Díaz plaza, and 2.6 mi (4.2 km) north from Central Mercedita.
DRAINAGE AREA - 0.17 mi², (0.44 km2).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2004 to September 30, 2013; discontinued.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite and radio telemetry at station. Elevation of gage is based on elevation given by Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA).
REMARKS - The dam is located in the north of Barrio Coto Laurel, 5 mi (8.05 km) northeast of the city of Ponce. The majority of the water they receive is from the Río Inabón. Ana María Number 5 reservoir is formed by an earthen dam 56 ft (17.07 m) height and 26 ft (7.92 m) wide. It has an area of 0.71 mi² (0.44 km2) and a capacity of 1,926.5 acre-ft (2.37 hm3) up to the level of the spillway. These dams were designed and constructed by Serralles Corporation Engineering Department in 1939. These privately owned dams originally provided water to irrigate sugar cane.
