LOCATION--Lat 41o38'28", long 71o26'42", Washington County, Hydrologic Unit 01090004, on right bank 45 ft upstream from Old Forge Dam in North Kingstown, 1.5 mi south of East Greenwich, and 2.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA--22.9 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD--August 1940 to current year. Prior to October 1977, published as "Potowomut River."
Water-quality records: water years 1977-81.
GAGE--Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 5.42 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
REMARKS--Flow affected by diversions for municipal supply of East Greenwich, North Kingstown, Warwick, and Quonset Point (formerly U.S. Naval establishment).
