03428200 WEST FORK STONES RIVER AT MURFREESBORO, TN
LOCATION - Lat 35°54'10", long 86°25'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Rutherford County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 05130203, stage gage is on the left bank near Murfreesboro sewage treatment plant outfall, 3,000 ft downstream from Sinking Creek, 4.5 mi northwest of the courthouse in Murfreesboro, and at river mile 10.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 177 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1972 to January 1982, January 1986 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform and crest-stage gage. Continuous stage and discharge; temporary precipitation. 

Datum of gage is 514.31 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18).  

 Prior to April 23, 2024, the datum of gage was 514.89 ft NAVD of 1988.

Prior to January 2018, the datum of gage was 514.95 ft NGVD of 1929.

REMARKS - Flow is affected by Murfreesboro sewage treatment plant effluent. Effluent discharges have increased from less than 5 ft³/s in 1972 to more than 30 ft³/s in 2010.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 31,000 ft³/s, maximum gage height, 23.80, March 13, 1975; minimum discharge, 2.90 ft³/s, July 7, 1988; minimum daily mean discharge, 4.70 ft³/s, October 13, 1980.
