Beginning May 12, 2017, the USGS Texas Water Science Center will be transitioning to new time series data management software. While you are not likely to notice this transition, some sites may have problems or delays during the update. We are actively monitoring these conditions and resolving them as quickly as possible.

Due to the effects of tidal fluctuations, a rating curve has been developed that uses the index-velocity method to compute discharge during periods when traditional stage-discharge rating curves are not as appropriate. The new rating curve has been implemented as of March 13, 2013 and will be used when discharges are less than approximately 1,000 cfs. During these periods, 15-minute discharge data will appear more erratic than previous, and is a result of using the new method. The daily mean discharges computed using the index-velocity rating should be more reliable than those computed using stage-discharge methods. For a reference to the index-velocity method, please see Click Here for Link to Index-Velocity Method
