LOCATION - Lat 31°30'33", long 97°21'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, McLennan County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060203, on left downstream side of bridge on Farm Road 3047, 1,100 ft downstream from Pecan Creek, 5.0 mi upstream from mouth, and 5.2 mi northeast of McGregor.
DRAINAGE AREA - 182 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 1959 to Sept. 1985 (daily mean discharge), Oct. 1985 to Sept. 2007 (peak discharges greater than base discharge), Oct. 2007 to current year (daily mean discharge). PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: Dec. 1961 to Sept. 1964, Oct. 1997 to Sept. 2008. BIOCHEMICAL DATA: Dec. 1961 to Sept. 1964, Oct. 1997 to Sept. 2008.
GAGE -

Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Satellite telemetry at station.

Datum of the gage: 529.57 ft NAVD88 based on a Level 2 Static GNSS survey processed through OPUS, Ref Frame: NAD83 (2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITFR2014 (EPOCH:2024.0294) and Geoid 18.  The survey was completed on January 11th, 2024, while occupying the gage Origin RM4.

Prior to 1/11/2024, the Datum of the gage was 530.51 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Oct. 27, 1959, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. 

REMARKS - Records fair except for estimated daily discharges and daily discharges below 5 ft³/s, which are poor. No known regulation or diversions. No flow at times. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of 1889, which reached a stage of 28.5 ft. A flood in 1957 reached a stage of 28.2 ft; and floods in 1913 and 1942 or 1943 reached a stage of about 28 ft, from information by local residents.
