LOCATION - Lat 47°22'28", long 123°38'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.24, T.22 N., R.8 W., Grays Harbor County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17100104, on left bank 280 ft upstream from road bridge, 1.5 miles northwest of Grisdale, and 0.6 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9.57 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1972 to September 1996 (daily discharge), October 2015 to current year (seasonal gage height only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 595.82 ft above NAVD of 1988, from USGS GNSS survey completed November 21, 2022, and is 600 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Oct. 1, 1990, at a site 300 ft upstream, at different datum.
REMARKS - No regulation or diversion upstream from station. U.S. Geological Survey satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood that probably occurred Mar. 18, 1997, reached a stage of 8.17 ft, from crest-stage gage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 3,680 ft³/s, Nov. 24, 1990, gage height, 7.44 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,000 ft³/s; maximum gage height, 8.54 ft, Nov. 17, 2015; minimum discharge, 7.2 ft³/s, several days in Oct., 1987 and Oct. 9, 1989.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - 24 years (water years 1973-96), 112 ft³/s, 159.21 in/yr, 81,240 acre-ft/yr.
