During the winter, river stage may be significantly affected by backwater from ice, resulting in incorrect discharge data. Consequently, discharge data may not be displayed during periods of ice effect.

LOCATION.--Lat 42°49'35", long 89°10'19", in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.10, T.4 N., R.11 E., Rock County, Hydrologic Unit 07090001, on left bank, 20 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 59, 0.5 mi downstream from Badfish Creek, and 2.6 mi northwest of Fulton.

DRAINAGE AREA.--518 square miles, 36.6 is non-contributing.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1977 to present.

REVISED RECORDS.--WDR WI-96-1: Drainage area.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 789.64 ft above sea level. July 1977 to April 1996, recording gage at site about 2,000 ft upstream at datum 2.85 ft higher.

REMARKS.--Diurnal fluctuation caused by powerplant at Dunkirk 6.1 mi upstream, and additional regulation from other dams upstream.
