During the winter, river stage may be significantly affected by backwater from ice, resulting in incorrect discharge data. Consequently, discharge data may not be displayed during periods of ice effect.

LOCATION.--Lat 42°57'15", long 89°16'47", in SW 1/4 sec.26, T.6 N., R.10 E., Dane County, Hydrologic Unit 07090001, on downstream side of bridge on Barber Drive 3.5 mi northwest of Stoughton.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 2003 to present.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 840.00 ft NGVD of 1929 (levels from Wisconsin Department of Transportation benchmark).
