  • January 22, 2018 - USGS Water Data availability during lapse in Federal funding

    Due to a lapse in Federal funding, the U.S. Geological Survey must suspend those parts of its data collection and distribution processes requiring human intervention. However, automated reporting and serving of telemetered data will continue.

    Users may note some degradation in the quality and completeness of real-time streamflow, groundwater and water-quality data from some reporting stations due to the suspension of field calibrations and adjustments, especially as high flows occur, aquatic vegetation becomes dominant, or ice forms in high altitude streams. The USGS will continue to monitor some performance aspects of its network using a skeleton workforce.

LOCATION.--Lat 42°44'28.3", long 88°13'28.2", in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.11, T.3 N., R.19 E., Racine County, Hydrologic Unit 07120006.

DRAINAGE AREA.--443 square miles.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--March 2011 to present.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, Precip and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 760 ft NAVD 88 from topo map.

REMARKS.--Regulation from the Rochester Dam located 0.40 mi downstream from E Main St. Gage-height telemeter at station.

OPERATED IN COOPERATION WITH: Racine County Drainage District

The precipitation data for this station are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days, which are also available for this auxiliary station under station ID no. 424425088133001.

Rainfall instrumentation may not be calibrated, and other quality assurance measures may not be performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.
