UPDATED October 1, 2020: USGS current stream monitoring information will continue at the following sites with funding from partner agencies and USGS Cooperative Matching Funds:

• 06311000 North Fork Powder River near Hazelton, WY - Funded through Sep 30, 2020 only
• 06324970 Little Powder River above Dry Creek near Weston, WY - Funded through Sep 30, 2021
• 06429905 Sand Creek near Ranch A near Beulah, WY - Funded through Sep 30, 2020 only
• 09205000 New Fork River near Big Piney, WY - Partner: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
• 13016450 Fish Creek at Wilson, WY - Partner: Teton Conservation District

USGS monitoring activities at these sites had been supported through June 30, 2020 with funding from our partner agency and USGS cooperative matching funds. Without funding from another partner, current water-resources information from these sites will no longer be available from the USGS. Historical data will continue to be available from USGS.

Parameter Help

Parameter codes are 5-digit codes used to identify the constituent measured and the units of measure. Some parameter code definitions include information about the methods used to measure the constituent, but this level of information is not currently consistent in the naming system. There are two types of parameter codes:

1. Fixed-value codes, where the result value is a numeric code that represents a textual meaning. These codes are described here.
2. Numeric codes, where the result is a numeric value for chemical, physical, and biological data.

The following table shows an example of several parameter codes and definitions. This table also illustrates how several parameter codes may exist for one type of measurement.

00910	Calcium, water, unfiltered, milligrams per liter as calcium carbonate
00915	Calcium, water, filtered, milligrams per liter
00916	Calcium, water, unfiltered, recoverable, milligrams per liter
