LOCATION - Lat 41°31'13", long 87°34'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.13, T.35 N., R.14 E., Cook County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120003, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on Joe Orr Road, 0.4 mi east of Cottage Grove Avenue, 1.0 mi north of US Highway 30, 1.5 mi northeast of Chicago Heights, and at mile 2.8.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
PRECIPITATION: December 2000 to current.
INSTRUMENTATION - Unheated tipping-bucket rain gage with satellite telemetry and voice modem. Prior to May 21, 2015, located at site 0.9 miles east.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -
PRECIPITATION: Maximum daily total, 5.72 in, July 21, 2001.
