USGS TO DISCONTINUE STREAMGAGES DUE TO
SEQUESTRATION: (Updated 4-30-13) The
USGS will discontinue operation of the following gages in Maine on May
15, 2013 unless additional funding can be established (Maine
USGS Threatened and Endangered Stations).
Partial federal funding for 6 additional gages
were impacted by sequestration. For these five gages cooperators were
able to fund the entire gage for the remainder of the year (Maine

The USGS investigates the occurrence, quantity,

public and private utilities, and other Federal agencies involved with
managing our water resources.
