LOCATION - Lat 42°32'31", long 72°41'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Franklin County, MA, Hydrologic Unit 01080203, on left bank 50 ft downstream of Reeds Bridge just off Bardwell Road, 2.2 mi north of Conway, and 2.6 mi upstream from mouth. From June 2004 to July 2016, on left bank 100 ft upstream of Reeds Bridge just off Bardwell Road, 2.2 mi north of Conway, and 2.6 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 24.1 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR MA-NH-RI-VT-73-1: 1968-70(P), 1971(M), 1972(P). WDR MA-RI-84-1: Drainage area. Water years 2011, 2012, and 2013, annual peak discharge.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: June 1966 to current year. Water-quality records: Water years 1967-69, 1994-95, 2003-05. Intermittent water-quality samples: water years 1967-69, 1994-95, 2003-05.
GAGE - Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 459.45 ft above NAVD 1988, estimated from topographic map. Datum previously reported as 460 ft above NGVD 1929, estimated from topographic map. From June 1966 to June 2004, water-stage recorder at current site and datum. From June 2004 to July 2016, water-stage recorder at site 150 ft upstream at same datum.

REMARKS - Diurnal fluctuation by small powerplant upstream since April 1982.
  • WY2016: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Jan. 4-9, 12-31, Feb. 6-23, 27, Mar. 3-5, and period of no gage-height record, Jan. 5, which are poor.
  • WY2015: Records good, except for periods of ice effect, Dec. 8, 10, Dec. 31 to Jan. 19, Jan. 21-24 and Jan. 26 to Mar. 26, which are poor.
  • WY2014: Records fair, except those for discharges greater than 3,500 ft³/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
