02204070 SOUTH RIVER AT KLONDIKE ROAD, NEAR LITHONIA, GA
LOCATION - Lat 33°37'48.4", long 84°07'42.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Dekalb County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03070103, on downstream side of bridge on Klondike Road, 1.1 miles south of GA 212, 1.2 miles downstream from Pole Bridge Creek, 8.6 miles downstream of Snapfinger Creek, and 5.8 miles southwest of Lithonia, Ga.
DRAINAGE AREA - 182 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: September 1983 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: February 1996 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 660.70 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988 (leveling by Global Navigation Satellite System equipment using GEOID12A).
COOPERATION - Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

Streamflow includes some water diverted from the Chattahoochee River by DeKalb County and City of Atlanta for municipial supply.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of April 30, 1963 reached a stage of 11.80 feet, discharge 9,630 cfs.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 13,800 cfs, September 21, 2009; maximum gage height recorded, 13.55 feet, September 21, 2009; minimum daily discharge, 48 cfs, July 20, 1988.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 2001 to October 2017.
