LOCATION - Lat 30°22'57.7", long 88°36'30.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 sec.02, T.8 S., R.6 W., Jackson County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 03170006, St. Stephens Meridian, at downstream side of east bound bridge 65.6 on US Hwy 90.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9,497 mi², (includes East Pascagoula River).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water years 1972, 1974-75, 2000, 2003 to current year. PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD.-- GAGE-HEIGHT: August 2003 to current year.
GAGE - Submersible transducer and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is 0.0 feet above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Gage height records good. Interruptions in the record were due to malfunction of the instruments. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD.-- GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum recorded, 13.09 ft, Aug. 29, 2005 (Hurricane Katrina), but may have been higher during periods of malfunction; minimum recorded, -2.42 ft, Jan. 14, 2006, but may have been lower during periods of instrument malfunction.
