03102850 SHENANGO RIVER NEAR TRANSFER, PA
LOCATION - Lat 41°21'13", long 80°23'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Mercer County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05030102, on left bank at downstream side of covered wooden bridge, 200 ft downstream from SR4012 bridge, 0.6 mi downstream from Big Run, 2.5 mi northeast of Transfer, at river mile 71.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 337 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WDR PA-71-3: 1966, 1967.

Revisions: The datum of gage was erroneously reported as 913.94 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 prior to January 16, 2023. 

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1965 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 912.4 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Prior to January 16, 2024, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 913.94 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.  Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Flow regulated since December 1933 by Pymatuning Reservoir (station 03100500) 13 mi upstream and at low flow by mills upstream of station. Records for water year are good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - November 2013 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water temperature sensor interfaced with a data collection platform with 15-minute recording interval.
REMARKS -

For water year 2014, water temperature records are rated good, except for April 8 to May 21, which are rated fair. For water year 2015, records for water temperature are rated fair. Interruptions in the record were due to equipment malfunctions. For water year 2016, records for water temperature are rated good, except for September 27-30, which are rated fair.  For water year 2017, records for water temperature are rated good, except for October 1 - November 7, which are rated fair. For water year 2018, records for water temperature are rated good, except April 30 - September 30, which are rated fair. For the water year 2019, records for water temperature are rated good.

Beginning in water year 2020, water temperature record is not rated as "excellent", "good", "fair" or "poor".
