03450000 BEETREE CREEK NEAR SWANNANOA, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°39'11", long 82°24'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Buncombe County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06010105, Lat 35 39' 11", long 82 24' 19" (Quad. 201 NW), Hydrologic Unit 06010105, on left bank, 1000 ft upstream from Beetree Reservoir, and 3.8 miles north of Swannanoa, Buncombe County.
DRAINAGE AREA - 5.46 mi². (measured by TVA on planimetric maps, scale 1:24,000). The entire drainage area is in the City of Asheville watershed, covered with hardwoods and heavy undergrowth, with only a few fire roads along the streams or valleys.
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WSP 823: Drainage area. WSP 893: 1928-29, daily discharges; 1936-37, maximum discharge. WSP 953: 1929, maximum discharge. WSP 1276: 1932, daily discharges. Discharge for the periods of January 15-16, 17-18, and 30-31, 2013; May 5-6, 2013; June 10, 2013; July 3-5, 7-8, 10-11, and 14, 2013; October 14, 2014; December 1-2, 24, and 29, 2015; and February 3, 2016 were revised on July 26, 2017 based on changes to the stage-discharge rating. Discharge for the periods of January 15-16, 17-18, and 30-31, 2013; May 5-6, 2013; June 10, 2013; July 3-5, 7-8, 10-11, and 14, 2013; October 14, 2014; December 1-2, 24, and 29, 2015; and February 3, 2016 were revised on July 26, 2017 based on changes to the stage-discharge rating.

Gage datum was revised on October 01, 2022, based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1926 to September 1975, October 1979 to September 1981, October 1985 to September 1986, and May 1987 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 2,693.13 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to May 5, 2005, at site 70 ft upstream, datum was 2.00 ft. higher than the current datum. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge from rating curve extended above 240 ft³/s on basis of computation of peak flow over weir.
