LOCATION - Lat 48°30'20", long 100°26'04" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.14, T.158 N., R.76 W., McHenry County, ND, Hydrologic Unit 09010003, on left bank 200 ft upstream from Nelson bridge, 8 mi east of Bantry, 18 mi upstream from Willow Creek, and at mile 228.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 12,300 mi² of which 7,600 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 2113: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - DAILY DISCHARGE--March 1937 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1308.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--DAILY GAGE HEIGHT--October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Datum of gage is 1,428.76 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88).  National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29) datum was converted to NAVD88 Datum using the National Geodetic Surveys VDATUM transformation tool in Nov. 2017.  Prior to Oct. 1, 2017, datum was published as 1,427.56 ft above NGVD29.  Prior to March 16, 1938, nonrecording gage at same site at datum, 1,427.39 ft above NGVD29. 
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted.

REGULATION.-- Flow regulated by reservoirs on Souris, Des Lacs, and Wintering Rivers, total capacity, about 700,800 acre-ft. Diversions for irrigation of about 7,000 acres at Eaton Dam about 42 mi above station and other small diversions for irrigation and municipal supply.
