LOCATION - Lat 38°42'42", long 99°20'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.29, T.15 S., R.18 W., Ellis County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 10260006, on left bank, 0.5 mi west of Schoenchen and at mile 309.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 5,760 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1964 to current year.
GAGE -

Water-stage recorder.

The current Datum of gage was calculated to be 1909.711 ft above sea level NAVD 88 based on a static survey of RM7 using Trimble R8 equipment conducted on 07/29/21 by J. Hawkins USGS.

The previous Datum of gage is 1,909.07 ft above NGVD of 1929. July 1964 to February 1985, water-stage recorder at site 3.8 mi upstream at different datum. February 1985 to July 2004, water-stage recorder at site 2.6 mi upstream at datum 13.41 ft higher.

REMARKS - Flow mostly regulated since 1950 by Cedar Bluff Reservoir (station 06861500), 24.4 mi upstream. Natural flow also affected by groundwater withdrawals, diversions for irrigation, and return flow from irrigated areas. Satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 20,400 cfs on Jun. 14, 1970 at a stage of 16.17 ft., at site and datum then in use. Maximum stage 16.55 ft. on Jul. 21, 1993, 20,200 cfs, at site and datum then in use.
