LOCATION - Lat 38°31'44.5", long 92°11'31.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.25, T.44 N., R.11 W., Cole County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10300102, near right bank on downstream side of right pier of bridge on Tanner Bridge Road, 3 mi south of Jefferson City, 15.8 mi downstream from confluence of North and South Moreau Creeks, and at mile 17.
DRAINAGE AREA - 561 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Dec 1947 to Sep 1974, Nov 13, 2000 to current year. Published as Moureau River near Jefferson City (06910500), 1948 to 1974. Discharge measurements only Oct 1956 to Sep 1957.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 543.69 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Aug 17, 1958, nonrecording gage, and Aug 17, 1958, to May 21, 1969, water-stage recorder at site 10 mi upstream and at datum 562.73 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, drainage area 531 mi².
REMARKS - Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS MO Water Science Center.  
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of 1905 reached a stage of 38.2 ft, flood of 1929 reached a stage of 32.91 ft, and flood of 1943 reached a stage of 35.1 ft, present site, from information and floodmarks by local residents.
