LOCATION - Lat 31°47'09", long 97°34'04" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Bosque County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12060204, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on Farm Road 219, 0.5 mi northeast of Clifton, 2.5 mi downstream from Meridian Creek, and 42.0 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 968 mi². (revised).

GAGE -

Water-stage recorder. Satellite telemetry at station.

Datum of the gage: 605.11 ft NAVD88 based on a Level 2 Static GNSS survey processed through OPUS, Ref Frame: NAD83 (2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITRF2014 (EPOCH:2024.0268) and Geoid 18. The survey was completed January 10th, 2024 while occupying a TRM that was referenced to local gage datum via differential levels.

Prior to 1/10/2024, the Datum of the gage was 605.43 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Oct. 1, 1955, and from Apr. 23, 1957 to Mar. 26, 1958, nonrecording gage at site 1.1 mi upstream at datum 17.02 ft higher; Oct. 1, 1955 to Apr. 22, 1957; Mar. 27, 1958 to Sept. 30, 1959 and Jan 2, 1961 to current year, water-stage recorder at present site and datum; Oct. 1, 1959 to Jan. 1, 1961, nonrecording gage at present site and datum. 

REMARKS - At least 10% of contributing drainage area is regulated. At times flow is affected by discharge from floodwater-retarding structures controlling runoff from 202 mi² in the North Bosque River and Green Creek drainage basins, in addition to several municipal withdrawal and wastewater effluent discharge. No flow at times. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 9, 1922, reached a stage of about 32 ft, from information by local residents.
