LOCATION - Lat 34°31'52", long 88°21'30" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.28, T.6 S., R.9 E., Prentiss County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 03160101, 75 feet north of Crow's Store off of Hwy 4, ~3 miles west of Jamie Whitten Lock and Dam near Dennis (02430005) on the Tenn-Tom Waterway or about 6 miles SW of the Natchez-Trace Parkway (~ 3 miles SW of Dennis off of Hwy 25).

GROUNDWATER RECORDS

WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 176 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening undefined, bottom of last opening undefined. Depth of well is 176 feet below land surface (LSD datum = 480.00 NGVD). Measuring point was saw mark at top of 4-inch gray well casing, 1.10 feet above land surface, it was reset at chiseled mark at 4-inch hole in metal floor set on gray well casing at 1.20 feet above land surface on Aug 15, 2017.

DATUM - Land-surface datum is 480 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: old MP, saw mark in grey 4 inch coupling, 1.1 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 8, 2017 to present; top edge of shelter floor @ black arrow, 1.2 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 2, 2017 to present. Note: Gage shelter installed Aug 15-16, 2017, MP reset at 1.20 above LSD on Aug 16, 2017

PERIOD OF RECORD - Water-level measurements May 23, 1972 to Feb 08, 2006, June 06, 2017 (well pumped), and continuous record Aug 15, 2017 to present.

GAGE - Design Analysis Data Collection Platform installed Aug 15, 2017. Water level transmitted every hour. A 3 by 3 by 3-foot metal shelter is fixed on top of a metal floor with a 4-inch hole. It is set on top of a 4-inch gray well casing. A DA 5223 (s/n 13 K 1011760) is connected to a KPSI submersible pressure transducer. It is set to a 15-minute scan interval.

COOPERATION - This well is operated in cooperation with the USGS national groundwater monitoring network.

REMARKS - Aug 15, 2017 to current. Groundwater level records fair to good. Missing periods due to intermittent malfunctions are not estimated or gap filled.
