  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 45°19'43.29", long 93°50'45.03" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.29, T.33 N., R.28 W., Wright County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 07010203, The well is located to the northeast of Control Road Drive, approximately 0.1 miles. The well is located on land that is owned by the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, near the southeastern corner of the main fenced-in compoound. Also, the well is located 0.25 miles southeast of the tallest smokestack at the Nuclear Plant.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 31.49 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 21 ft, bottom of last opening 31 ft. The hole for well ALUS-31 was drilled with an 8.25-inch-diameter (unknown method) on 04 September 2007 to a depth of 33 feet. The well is constructed of a 5-feet-long, 2-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC, 0.010-inch slotted, flush-threaded screen attached to about 17.5 feet of 2-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC casing. The casing stickup was 2.76 feet above land surface on 01 September 2012. The open interval of the well is 21 - 31 feet below land surface and the total well depth is 31.49 feet.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 935 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: top of casing, not protection casing and/or post, 2.40 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 1, 2012, to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water levels are recorded periodically from 30 May 2013 to the present. Hourly water levels were recorded from 16 December 2013 at 14:00 CST to 06 November 2014 at 12:00 CST.
GAGE - Water level and battery voltage are measured with an OTT Orpheus Mini submersible pressure transducer accurate to 0.01 feet, which also records all data hourly. The data logger and transducer are hanging down the 2-inch PVC well casing. The gage is powered by 3 lithium AA batteries and is downloaded manually.
COOPERATION - Well GC133 is operated by Excel Energy, Monticello Nuclear Power Plant, as part of their monitoring well network. The well was used as part of the I-94 Growth Corridor Study during May 2013 to November 2014. The I-94 Corridor project is a collaborative effort between the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Geological Survey.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Quarter-hourly precipitation are recorded from 16 December 2013 at 14:15 CDT to 06 November 2014 at 13:00 CST.
INSTRUMENTATION - Precipitation is measured with an Onset RG3 tipping-bucket rain gage, which is accurate to 0.01 inches. The rain gage is unheated and uncovered during the winter. Thus precipitation data during freezing periods (about December through early April) result from melting of snow during warm periods and do NOT represent actual precipitation.
