- For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
- For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
- For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
- Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 41°33'39.29", long 72°36'41.43" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Middlesex County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01080205, on right bank 0.5 mi upstream from Bodkin Rock, 2 mi downstream from Middletown, and 29.5 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10,887 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1965 to September 30, 2011 (discontinued). Jan. 1947 to Sept. 1948, twice daily readings on outside staff gage, and Sept.
1948 to Oct. 1965, infrequent discharge measurements at high stages and continuous graphic record of stage.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Telephone telemetry at station until June 23, 2011, satellite telemetry at station from Aug. 25, 2011 to present.
REMARKS - Prior to 1994 water year, volume discharge records are available.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 267,000 ft³/s Mar. 21, 1936, gage height, 28.20 ft, from rating curve extended above 125,000 ft³/s on basis of stage and discharge determinations of 1927, 1936, and 1938 floods. Peak discharges for floods dating back to 1814 are available in the office at East Hartford, Conn.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 186,000 ft³/s June 2, 1984, gage height, 21.27 ft.
