Glacial Ridge Project Sites MN-18000

NOTE: During winter months, stage and discharge may be significantly affected by backwater from ice, resulting in incorrect discharge data. Consequently, discharge data may not be displayed during periods of ice effect. Click here for more information.




These sites were operated as part of the USGS Glacial Ridge Hydrology Project. The project purpose was to quantify the hydrologic benefits of wetland and prairie restorations, such as flood reduction and water-quality improvements. The project identifed landscape characteristics that result in the most restoration benefits, and located areas in western Minnesota that have those characteristics. These areas are most likely to produce the greatest hydrologic benefits from wetland and prairie restoration.

All sites except WLN06 are no longer maintained after 20 April 2016. Water level calibration data continue to be collected, but the record is not being corrected. Raingages are not being maintained or calibrated.
