LOCATION.--Lat 39°33'11.6", long 78°33'18.0", Allegany County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02070003, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on Pack Horse Road (formerly Oldtown Road), 0.4 mi northeast of Maryland State Highway 51, 2.0 mi upstream from mouth of Sawpit Run, 3.0 mi northeast of Oldtown, and 4.0 mi upstream from mouth. DRAINAGE AREA.--148 mi2 PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 1928 to September 1935, June 1967 to September 1981, May 2001 to September 2004, October 2006 to current year. REVISIONS HISTORY.--OFR 95-292: Drainage area. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 547.30 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. REMARKS.--U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 12,300 ft3/s Sep. 2, 2021, gage height, 15.11 ft; minimum discharge, 0.0 ft3/s, no flow Dec. 27, 28, 2001. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of March 17 or 18, 1936, reached a peak stage of 19.08 ft from floodmarks, discharge, 27,000 ft3/s.
