75°35'28.6" referenced to North American Datum of
1983, Lewis County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 04150101, on left bank
350 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 26, and 2.0 mi
upstream from mouth, at Deer River.
DRAINAGE AREA.--97.2 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1956 to September 1968, water years 1969-75, 1977 to current year (annual maximum only).
REVISIONS HISTORY.--WDR NY-82-1: Drainage area. WDR-NY-94-1: 1963-64(M), 1972(M), 1985(M), 1993(M). Maximum discharges for water years 2011-16 were revised on Feb. 2, 2018 based on measurements made during 2014 and 2017 following the flood of Oct. 1, 2010. The discharge associated with the indirect discharge measurement made for the event of Apr. 4, 1963, was revised on Mar. 6, 2024, based on a review of the measurement completed on July 6, 1995. The maximum discharges for water years 2011-2023 were revised on Oct. 17, 2024, based on changes to the stage-discharge rating.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 17,200 ft³/s, Dec. 29, 1984, gage height, 10.63 ft, from floodmarks; maximum gage height, 11.10 ft, Mar. 6, 1979 (ice jam).
