USGS 04082500 LAKE WINNEBAGO AT OSHKOSH, WI

LOCATION.--Lat 44°00'35", long 88°31'38", in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.25, T.18 N., R.16 E., Winnebago County, Hydrologic Unit 04030203, at 905 Bay Shore Drive, 800 ft east of mouth of the upper Fox River.

DRAINAGE AREA.--5,880 square miles, at lake outlet at Menasha Dam. Area of Lake Winnebago, 215 square miles.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1938 to present in reports of Geological Survey. Records from 1882 to 1938 collected by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and in files of Geological Survey and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A report on Fox River by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, published as House Document No. 146, 67th Congress, 2nd session, contains semi-monthly records of inflow of Lake Winnebago for the period 1896-1917.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Nonrecording gage read once daily October 1938 to October 1978. Datum of gage is 743.91 NAVD88 from GPS survey.

REMARKS.--Lake elevations controlled by dams at Menasha and Neenah. Data-collection platform and gage-height telemeter at station.
