LOCATION.--Lat 43° 16', long 112° 11' (NAD27), in sec.7, T.2 S., R.37 E., Bingham County, Firth quad., Hydrologic Unit 17040206, on left bank 400 ft downstream from where the Idaho (Government) Canal crosses the creek and about 2.5 mi south of Firth.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--December 1916 to June 1924 (discontinued).
GAGE.--Staff gage. Elevation of gage is 4,600 ft above NGVD of 1929, estimated, from nearby topographic map. Prior to May 17, 1917, staff gage 300 ft upstream at different datum.
REMARKS.--Many diversions upstream for irrigation. Flow is largely supplied by waste water from irrigation canals. Since 1924, the Idaho (Government) Canal diverts practically the entire flow of Sand Creek at times during irrigation season.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge observed, 348 ft3/s Apr. 3, 1919,
