LOCATION.--Lat 42° 42'46", long 113° 04'26" (NAD27), in SW1/4 SE1/4 NW1/4 sec.21, T.8 S., R.29 E., Power County, Register Rock quad., Hydrologic Unit 17040209, on west side of Snake River, and 9.5 mi southwest of American Falls.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--December 1982 to September 1984 (discontinued). No gage-height record, Dec. 21, 1982 to Feb. 2, 1983, Sept. 28-30, 1983, Dec. 22, 1983 to Feb. 2, 1984, June 29 to July 24, July 30 to Aug. 20, 1984.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 4,240.526 ft above NGVD of 1929, levels by U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS.--Bonanza Lake is located in a natural depression in a lava rock shelf, and has no natural or manmade surface outlets. It is fed by ground water, precipitation, and runoff. Due to the permeablility of the lakebed, some stored water leaves the area by infiltration to the regional aquifer.
