USGS 13103000 TROUT CREEK NEAR SAN JACINTO, NV

LOCATION.--Lat 41° 54'00", long 114° 38'00" (NAD27), in sec.5, T.46 N., R.64 E., Elko County, NV, Hydrologic Unit 17040213, Jackpot quad., about 250 ft upstream from the point where High Line Flume crosses the creek, and about 4 mi northeast of San Jacinto, Nevada.

DRAINAGE AREA.--106 mi2.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--May to September 1914 (discontinued).

GAGE.--Staff gage. Elevation of gage is 5,220 ft above sea level, by barometer.

REMARKS.--Water diverted for irrigation from Cow Creek (a tributary of Trout Creek) about 1 mi above station, bypasses station through Cow Creek ditch. Records include estimate of flow in ditch. July 14 to Sept. 30, the entire flow of Trout Creek was diverted into Cow Creek ditch. The flow of this ditch was estimated as follows: July 14-30, 0.3 ft3/s; August, 0.13 ft3/s; September, 0.24 ft3/s.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge observed, 13.4 ft3/s May 25, 1914, gage height, 1.40 ft; minimum, 0.1 ft3/s (estimated) Aug. 11-31, 1914.
