LOCATION.--Lat 43° 01'28", long 115° 00'33"(Rev.)(NAD83), in NE1/4 sec.3, T.5 S., R.12 E., Gooding County, Hydrologic Unit 17040212, Hog Creek quad., just downstream from Calf Creek, and 6.5 mi northwest of Bliss.
DRAINAGE AREA.--140 mi2. Mean elevation, 4,700 ft.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--April 1938 to October 1943, August 1957 to September 1962 (discontinued). Annual maximums, 1963-65.
REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1717: 1958-59.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 3,119.97 ft, NGVD of 1929, levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. April 1938 to October 1943, at site 3 mi downstream at different datum.
REMARKS.--Many diversions above and below station for irrigation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge determined, 4,100 ft3/s Feb. 10, 1962,
gage height, 8.59 ft, from rating curve extended above 600 ft3/s, on basis of
slope-area measurement at gage height 7.57 ft; maximum gage height, 10.95 ft,
Feb. 1, 1963; no flow at times in many years.
Flood of December 1955 reached a stage of about 10.2 ft, present (1962) site and
datum (corrected), from floodmarks.
