> Site Information
LOCATION.--Lat 40°34'36.2", long 74°05'54.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Richmond County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02030104, at Midland Field Park, west side of Bedford Avenue, across from Laconia Avenue, Midland Beach, Staten Island.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Depth 45 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 35 ft, bottom of last opening 40 ft.
DATUM.--Land-surface datum is 14 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, 0.70 ft below land-surface datum, 13.3 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 23, 2004 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--July 2004 to current year.
GAGE.--Water level recorder installed November 2005 to August 2013. Periodic manual measurements by USGS personnel.
REMARKS.--Highest water-level recorded on Oct. 30, 2012 attributed to seawater infiltration of the aquifer from Hurricane Sandy’s storm tide.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Highest water level recorded, 9.97 ft above NGVD of 1929, Oct. 30, 2012; lowest recorded, 3.18 ft above NGVD of 1929, Sept. 21, 2005.
