southwest corner of Smithtown Boulevard and Nichols Road,
Ronkonkoma.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Depth 50 ft. Upper casing
diameter 2 in; top of first opening 46 ft, bottom of last
opening 50 ft. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 1982 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-level recorder installed August 2008;
15-minute recording interval. Periodic manual measurements by
USGS personnel.
REMARKS.--Replaced well S1812.2 in May 1982 near same
location. Unpublished records from April 1937 to September 1975
for wells S1812.1 to S1812.2 are available in files of the
Geological Survey. Cellular water-level telemeter at
station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Highest water level
recorded, 52.44 ft above NGVD 29, April 27, 2010; lowest
measured, 40.07 ft above NGVD 29, August 21, 2002.
