LOCATION - Lat 28°45'14", long 82°13'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Citrus County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100208, at upstream side of control structure, 50 ft. upstream from bridge on Trail's End Road, 1.4 mi downstream from Withlacoochee River and 4.1 mi east of Floral City, FL.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Miscellaneous discharge measurements, water years 1964-72, 1982; October 1982 to September 1983 (discharge measurements only); October 1983 to November 1987 (discharge measurements and gage heights only); December 1987 to July 1991 (discharge measurements only); May 2011 to December 2013 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, acoustic velocity meter, and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is at NAVD of 1988 (Southwest Florida Water Management District bench mark) and 0.85 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Nov. 21, 1983, nonrecording gage at site 50 ft downstream at NGVD of 1929. Nov. 21, 1983 to Nov. 17, 1987 water-stage recorder at present site and datum of NGVD 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by gated structure downstream of gage. Canal is a controlled diversion from the Withlacoochee River to Tsala Apopka Lake; reverse flow may occur.
