Click to hide Water-Year Summary instructions and information
  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
02394682 RICHLAND CREEK AT OLD DALLAS ROAD, NEAR DALLAS, GA
LOCATION - Lat 34°04'44.3", long 84°51'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Paulding County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03150104,
DRAINAGE AREA - 2.54 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
GAGE-HEIGHT: January 2016 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with water-stage recorder and continuous water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 796.72 ft above NAVD 88. The NAVD 88 datum of gage was determined from two GNSS Level II, single-base static surveys of RM 6 (REF FRAME: NAD_83(2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18), that was tied to the gage datum via conventional levels completed by USGS personnel on October 23, 2019. Prior to December 3, 2020, the manuscript stated that the datum of gage was 800 ft above NGVD of 1929 as determined via topographic map by USGS.
COOPERATION - Paulding County Water System.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2016 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket raingage.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2016 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD -
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: January 2016 to current year.
pH: January 2016 to to current year.
WATER TEMPERATURE: January 2016 to current year.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN: January 2016 to current year.
TURBIDITY: January 2016 to to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Satellite telemetry with a continuous water quality monitor.
REMARKS -

For period 01/16/2016-09/30/2017: Specific conductance, pH, water temperature and dissolved oxygen record is rated fair. Turbidity record is rated poor.
For period 10/01/2017-09/30/2018: Specific conductance, pH, water temperature and dissolved oxygen record is rated fair. Turbidity record is rated poor.
For period 10/01/2018-09/30/2019: Specific conductance, pH, water temperature and dissolved oxygen record is rated fair. Turbidity record is rated poor.

Data for parameter code 63680 (turbidity) were collected using a probe with the following specifications: turbidity, water, monochrome near infra-red LED light, 780-900 nm, detection angle 90 +/-2.5 degrees, FNU (Formazin Nephelometric Units).Hydrologic event code of 9 indicates a routine sample while J designates a storm event sample. Laboratory chemical analyses are by the U.S. Geological Survey, National Water-Quality Laboratory, Denver, CO. Field determinations of discharge, specific conductance, pH, water temperature, turbidity, barometric pressure and dissolved oxygen are by the U.S. Geological Survey.
