LOCATION - Lat 39°37'18.3", long 79°42'16.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Preston County, WV, Hydrologic Unit 05020004, on right bank just downstream from highway bridge at Rockville, and at mile 5.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 200 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1909 to March 1918, and April 1921 to current year (daily discharge and peaks).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemeter.  Datum of gage is 1,322.4 ft above NAVD88. Prior to Oct. 4, 1924, nonrecording gages at highway bridge at same datum.
REMARKS - Maximum peak flow of 26,400 ft³/s (stage 18.00, observed) on July 24, 1912, based on a rating curve extension above 10,000 ft³/s on basis of velocity-area studies.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 10, 1888, reached a stage of about 20 ft, discharge, about 30,000 ft³/s.
