LOCATION - Lat 43°09'03", long 82°37'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.06, T.8 N., R.16 E., St. Clair County, MI, Hydrologic Unit 04090001, on left bank of upstream side of bridge on Jeddo Road, 0.4 mi downstream from Silver Creek, and 2.2 mi west of Jeddo.
DRAINAGE AREA - 464 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1307: 1950(M). WSP 1627: 1956-58. WSP 2112: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1944 to current year. Published as "near Fargo" prior to October 1991.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 651.58 ft above NAVD 88 (levels by Michigan Department of Transportation). Prior to July 9, 1954, nonrecording gage, July 10, 1954 to September 1991 water-stage recorder at site 7.6 mi downstream, at different datum (station 04159500), and October 1991 to Nov. 6, 2014, water stage recorder at site 800 ft upstream, at same datum. Oct. 1, 1991 to Sept. 30, 2011, at datum 3.42 ft higher.
REMARKS - Diurnal fluctuation, principally during low flow, caused by an unknown source upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 14,400 ft³/s, Apr. 5, 1947, gage height 16.06, from floodmark, site and datum then in use, from rating curve extended above 9,500 ft³/s; maximum gage height, 16.89 ft, Feb. 12, 2009, previous site and datum then in use, peak stage observed at previous site and datum, 18.05 ft, Feb. 20, 1951, backwater from ice; minimum discharge, 1.8 ft³/s, Sept. 18, 19, 1946, observed, site then in use.
