LOCATION - Lat 42°52'29", long 89°47'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.29, T.5 N., R.6 E., Dane County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 07090004, on left bank just upstream from bridge on County Trunk Highway H, 0.7 mi east of State Highway 78 and 5.5 mi northeast of Blanchardville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 19.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2006 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 880 ft, NAVD of 1988 from topographic map.
REMARKS - Records are considered fair, except for estimated daily discharges which are poor and other periods as noted below. For records prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in the annual water-data reports. Gage-height telemeter at station.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2006 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping bucket rain gage with electronic data logger.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily rainfall, 5.70 in., Aug. 5, 2007.
REMARKS - Rainfall was estimated to be 0.00 for Nov. 30, Dec. 4, 8, 29-31, Jan. 1, 11, 12, 27, 29, 30, Feb. 1, 3, 6, 8, 13, 18, 24, 27, and Mar. 1, 8, 10, 12 because recorded precipitation was interpreted as snowmelt. Rain gage calibration on April 21 found an error of -4.4%. No calibration corrections were applied. The check tips made were edited and removed from the database by editing the computed unit values to zero. The edited unit values will still show these tips. The rain gage worked the entire year and record is considered good.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SUSPENDED SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: Maximum daily, 779 tons, Mar. 10, 2013; minimum daily, 0.06 ton, Sep. 13-15, 2011. TOTAL PHOSPHORUS DISCHARGE: Maximum daily, 1260 lb, Feb. 26, 2009; minimum daily, 0.39 lb, May 22, 2007.
