06151500 BATTLE CREEK NEAR CHINOOK, MT
LOCATION - Lat 48°38'58.17", long 109°13'54.10" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.3, T.33 N., R.19 E., Blaine County, MT, Hydrologic Unit 10050008, on left bank, 4 mi north of Chinook, and at river mile 14.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,631 mi² of which 163 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Water Data Report 2006: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1905 to September 1921, June 1984 to current year (seasonal records only). Monthly discharge only for some periods was published in Water Supply Paper 1309. Site was published as "North Fork Milk River near Chinook" prior to 1913.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 2,410 ft, referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Apr. 22, 1905 to Apr. 8, 1918, chain gage located 100 ft downstream, and Apr. 9, 1918 to Sept. 30, 1921, chain gage located on bridge 600 ft downstream at same elevation but different from present elevation.

03/27/2018 to 11/05/2018 (seasonal record): records are fair, except estimated records are poor.
03/21/2017 to 10/31/2017 (seasonal record): records are fair.
03/29/2016 to 11/02/2016 (seasonal record): records are fair.
04/01/2015 to 11/03/2015 (seasonal record): records are good. 
04/01/2014 to 10/31/2014 (seasonal record): records are fair. 

Diversions for irrigation of about 11,000 acres occur upstream from station.
