07204500 CIENEGUILLA CREEK NEAR EAGLE NEST, NM
LOCATION - Lat 36°29'06.78", long 105°15'55.37" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Colfax County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 11080002, in Maxwell Grant, on right bank 0.1 mi downstream from Schoolhouse Draw, 0.4 mi upstream from high-water line of Eagle Nest Lake, 0.5 mi east of U.S. Highway 64, and 4.7 mi south of Eagle Nest.
DRAINAGE AREA - 74.9 mi².  
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 957: 1941. WSP 1281: drainage area. WSP 1311: 1932(M), 1935(M), 1937(M). Drainage area was revised to a more accurate value on Aug. 6, 2020. See also PERIOD OF RECORD. 
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1928 to September 1955, June 1964 to June 2010, (seasonal records except in water years 1932, 1948, and 1951). Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1311 and 1731. Records for December 1930 to March 1931, published in WSP 732, are unreliable and should not be used. Published as "near Therma," 1928-34.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Concrete control since Sept. 25, 1947. Elevation of gage is 8,200 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to May 8, 1928, nonrecording gage, and May 8, 1928, to Sept. 1, 1934, water-stage recorder at site 0.2 mi downstream at different datums. Gage and concrete control removed late 2010. Steel flume installed no recorder.
REMARKS - Diversions for irrigation of about 1,000 acres upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge during periods of seasonal operation, 505 ft³/s, June 16, 1965, gage height, 5.63 ft, and Mar. 19, 1994, from rating curve extended above 110 ft³/s; no flow at times.
