LOCATION - Lat 35°05'03", long 98°14'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 sec.15, T.7 N., R.10 W., Caddo County, OK, Hydrologic Unit 11130302, on right downstream bank at bridge on U.S. Highway 281 at north edge of Anadarko, 8.1 mi upstream from Sugar Creek, and at mile 305.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,640 mi² of which 12 mi² probably is noncontributing. from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated 10/01/2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated 10/01/2006, using Albers Equal-Area Projection, North American Datum 1983.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1150.58 above NAVD of 1988 determined by GNSS Level II Survey using Alltera network with RTK Trimble R-10 tied to BM-5 by USGS Personnel on 07-30-2019. Prior to 07-30-2019 Datum of gage was 1,150.00 ft above NGVD of 1929. October 26, 1902, to June 30, 1908, nonrecording gage at former bridge 125 ft downstream at datum estimated to be 2.8 ft higher. May 25, 1924, to June 30, 1925, nonrecording gage at county road bridge 14 mi downstream at different datum. Jan. 10, 1936, to Mar. 7, 1938, non-recording gage on upstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 281 at datum 1.88 ft higher. October 1963 to March 1989 gage located 100 ft upstream at same datum.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 1949, reached an elevation of 1,176.7 ft, from floodmark, at right bank on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 281.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Peak of record discharge is 52,800 ft³/s with a gage height of 25.37 ft on June 6, 1995.
AVERAGE DISCHARGE FOR PERIOD PRIOR TO REGULATION - Water years 1903-37, 595 ft³/s.
