LOCATION - Lat 32°48'22", long 95°55'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Van Zandt County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12010001, on downstream side of bridge on Farm Road 47, 750 ft downstream from Iron Bridge Dam that forms Lake Tawakoni, 3.6 mi upstream from McBee Creek, 9.0 mi northeast of Wills Point, and at mile 514.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 756 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Sept. 1960 to May 1968 (miscellaneous discharge measurements), Oct. 1970 to current year. PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: July 1974 to Aug. 1979. BIOCHEMICAL DATA: July 1974 to Aug. 1979. PESTICIDE DATA: July 1974 to Aug. 1979.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 370.00 ft above NGVD of 1929, 370.13 ft above NAVD of 1988. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Station is periodically affected by backwater conditions. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. Since installation of gage, at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. No flow at times.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge since construction of Iron Bridge Dam in 1960, about 21,000 ft³/s, May 1, 1966, from theoretical rating curve of flow over dam 750 ft upstream.
