LOCATION - Lat 31°08'02", long 96°49'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Falls County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12070101, on right bank 45 ft downstream from bridge on Farm Road 413, 1.4 mi downstream from Highbank Slough and Spring Branch, 2.6 mi south of Highbank, and at mile 346.6.
DRAINAGE AREA - 30,436 mi² of which 9,566 mi² probably is noncontributing.

Datum of the gage: 279.44 ft NAVD88 based on a Level 2 Static GNSS survey processed through OPUS and Ref Frame NAD83 (2011)(EPOCH:2010.0000) ITRF2014 (EPOCH:2022.1230) and Geoid 18. The survey was completed on 2/14/2022 while occupying a TRM referenced to local gage datum via differential levels.
Prior to 2/14/2022: The Datum of gage was 279.29 ft NGVD29 by levels.
REMARKS - Records fair. Since installation of gage in 1965 at least 10% of contributing drainage area has been regulated. Water is diverted from the river about 52 miles upstream from this station by Texas Power and Light Co. to Tradinghouse Reservoir. Many diversions above station for municipal supply, irrigation, and industrial uses. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stages since at least 1909, 42 ft in Dec. 1913 and 40 ft in Sept. 1936, from information by local residents.
