LOCATION - Lat 29°30'57", long 98°25'51" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Bexar County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12100301, on right bank at downstream side of eastbound bridge on Interstate Highway 410 in San Antonio, 1.0 mi west of Northeast School, 1.1 mi upstream from Perrin-Beitel Creek, and 2.7 mi east of San Antonio International Airport.
DRAINAGE AREA - 137 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Sept. 1960 to Dec. 2006; Feb. 2011 to current water year. Prior to Oct. 2000, published as "(Upper Station) at San Antonio". PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-quality.-- Chemical data: Nov. 1968 to May 1999. Biochemical data: Nov. 1968 to May 1999. Pesticide data: Nov. 1971 to Sept. 1973.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and Rain gage. Datum of gage is 684.60 ft above NGVD of 1929. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - Some diversions for irrigation upstream from gage. No flow at times. Station discontinued due to major highway construction. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1853, 23 to 24 ft in Oct. 1913. Flood in Sept. 1921 reached a stage of 18 ft, and flood of Sept. 27, 1946, reached a stage of 18.2 ft.
