LOCATION - Lat 39°27'12.4", long 108°03'38.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.12, T.7 S., R.96 W., Garfield County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14010005, on left bank 1,300 ft upstream from cemetery bridge in Grand Valley, 2,000 ft downstream from headgate of Garden ditch, and 1.4 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 198 mi².  
REVISIONS HISTORY - August 2021: Drainage area, October 1, 1974.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1921 to September 1927, October 1948 to September 1954, October 1974 to September 1982, April 2021 to September 2021. Prior to October 1980, published as at Grand Valley.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Altitude of gage is 5,100 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map and 5,108 ft above NAVD of 1988, from digital map. Nonrecording gage Apr. 7, 1921 to Sept. 30, 1927; water-stage recorder Oct. 1, 1948 to Sept. 30, 1954, at site 75 ft upstream at different datum; and October 1974 to December 23, 1975, at site 0.5 mi downstream at different datum. 
COOPERATION - This gage is part of the Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) network.
REMARKS - Water year 2021; no estimated daily discharges. Records good except for flows above 11 ft3/s, which are poor. Water year 2022; records fair except for flows above 100 ft3/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2023; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Diversions above station for irrigation of 1,400 acres and 400 acres along Colorado River. 
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2,600 ft³/s, July 31, 1976, gage height, 9.47 ft, from high-water marks, result of slope-area measurement.
