LOCATION - Lat 38°31'26.5", long 109°59'39.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.24, T.26 S., R.17 E., Grand County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14060008,
DRAINAGE AREA - 48,560 mi². of which about 4,260 mi² is noncontributing, including 3,959 mi² in Great Divide Basin in southern Wyoming. Contributing drainage area calculated by the polygon area method with the GlobalWatershed data source processed by the Utah StreamStats application on Dec 16, 2014.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Water stage recorder. Elevation of the gage is 3,928.76 ft above NAVD of 1988 from level 3 GNSS survey on Aug 13, 2020. The GNSS survey had a vertical peak-to-peak error of 0.29 ft.
REMARKS - Diversions for irrigation above station. Flow regulated by Flaming Gorge Reservoir (see station 09234400) since November 1, 1962. Records good except for estimated daily values which are fair and other periods as noted: All of water year 2014 is considered fair due to the application of a gage height correction during high water due to drawdown, and due to a short time period that the gage was operational for rating development. May 7, 2015 to Jul 1, 2015 records are fair due to the application of a gage height correction caused by drawdown.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Records from upstream gage 09315000, Green River at Green River, UT. Maximum discharge, 68,100 ft³/s, Jun 27, 1917; minimum, 255 ft³/s, Nov 26, 1931. These extremes occurred prior to regulation by Flaming Gorge Dam.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum Discharge, 29,100 ft³/s, Jun 21, 2019, gage height, 19.13ft, Minimum daily discharge, 852 ft³/s, Jul 23, 2021.

INSTRUMENTATION - Hydroacoustic sensors and an autosampler for suspended sediment concentration monitoring from Apr 2014 to current year.
