LOCATION - Lat 38°05'49.64", long 110°24'26.70" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Garfield County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14070004, on right bank 0.25 mi upstream from Poison Spring Wash and 25.5 mi southeast of Hanksville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,159 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR UT-77-1: Drainage area. WDR UT-80-1: 1979, 1977-79(P).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1948 to 1993, May 2001 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 3,826.73 ft above NAVD of 1988, from a Level 2 GNSS survey conducted on August 11, 2023. Prior to July 15, 1964, at site 28 mi downstream at different datum. July 15, 1964 to December 14, 1976, approximately 200 ft upstream at datum 4.83 ft higher. December 15, 1976 to September 30, 1980 at site 600 ft downstream at datum 4.28 ft higher. Sep 30, 1980 to Oct 11, 2017 at location 1,000 ft downstream using the same datum.
REMARKS - Records generally fair except for estimates which are poor. Several large diversions on Muddy Creek and Fremont River upstream of station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 35,800 ft³/s, Oct 7, 2006, gage height, 29.02 ft, from floodmarks, site and datum then in use, on basis of a slope-area measurement; no flow at times many years.
