LOCATION - Lat 39°22'46", long 120°08'12" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.30, T.18 N., R.17 E., Nevada County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 16050102, in control house on Prosser Creek Dam on Prosser Creek, 1.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 4.2 mi northeast of Truckee.
DRAINAGE AREA - 50.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR CA-76-3: 1975. WDR CA-79-3: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1963 to current year. January 1963 to September 1987 (month end elevations and contents only). Prior to October 1976, published as "near Boca."
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 (levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation).
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by rolled-earth and rock-fill dam. Storage began Jan. 30, 1963. Contents based on capacity table dated 1962. Usable capacity, 28,641 acre-ft, between elevations 5,660.6 ft, top of inactive contents, and 5,741.2 ft, crest of spillway. Inactive contents, 1,201 acre-ft, includes 83 acre-ft dead contents below elevation 5,637.0 ft. Records, including extremes, represent usable contents at 2400 hours. Records prior to the 2007 water year represent total contents at 0800 hours. Reservoir is used for flood control, enhancement of fishery, and recreation.
